Karen's obituary

On Wednesday, October 9, 2019, Karen Melissa Davis-Turner, age 56 of Pflugerville, walked through the pearly gates of Heaven and rejoiced at the feet of our Savior.

Karen was born in Borger, Texas on July 13, 1963 to loving parents, Stanley and Catherine Davis. In 1994 she moved to Austin, Texas with her family to pursue various educational opportunities and raise her two children, Megan and John. Karen always enjoyed learning, earning two Associates degrees, a Bachelor of Science in Technical Management, and a Master of Business Administration. The past 10 years, Karen has worked as an office manager for a CPA firm in Austin. She was fortunate enough to have a work family that were not just colleagues, but also very dear friends.

Karen was overflowing with life, and her passion knew no boundaries. She never took no for an answer and always pushed the limits. Every day with her was an adventure because she always strived to achieve life’s maximum potential. Her presence and personality were bigger than life and completely undeniable, but her heart was even bigger. She seized every opportunity to give a hug, say a prayer, or tell someone that she loved them. It was impossible not to love her because her love was so infectious. Karen had a faith that could move mountains, and our loss here on Earth is certainly Heaven’s gain. The world will be a little dimmer without her in it, but the light from above will surely shine a little brighter.

Karen was greeted in Heaven by her parents, Stanley and Catherine Davis; grandparents, aunts, uncles, and her longtime love Destry Chisholm. What a joyous reunion they are having in the presence of our Lord. Karen’s legacy here on earth will be carried on by her son, John Turner of Austin; daughter, Megan Stifflemire and husband, Clint and three granddaughters, Avery, Ainsley, and Ambry of Early, TX who all knew her lovingly as MiMi; brother, John Davis and wife, Lorraine of Austin; brother, Jimmy Davis and wife, Tatiana of Rockwall, TX; sister, Cathy Rauscher and husband, Larry of Amarillo, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews. Karen also leaves behind many friends she considered family. In Karen’s eyes family was not created by blood but rather by love. She will be deeply missed, but the impact she left on the hearts of those she loved will live on forever.
