On Wednesday February 17, 2021, Karen Lynn Sytek, loving wife and mother of four, passed away at the age of 55.
Karen was born on February 12, 1966, in Kenosha, Wisconsin to Thomas and Beverly (Bockhop) Lapp, sister to Lori Marion and Robert Lapp. She received two degrees from Catawba Valley Community College in business management and accounting. Karen was married to Matthew Sytek December 7th, 1996. Karen and Matthew raised her three sons Jerome Surma, David French Sr., and William French, and one daughter, Kathlina (French) Prieto Vasquez together. Loving Grandmother to David Jr, Hailey, Briannah, Ashlynn, and Connor.
Karen was a people person she met no stranger. She was the type to help whoever and however she could. Karen was also passionate about animals especially her beloved dogs. She would have taken in all the homeless animals had she been given the chance. Family meant everything to her, and she loved when family visited or she was able to get out and visit. Her favorite saying was “family is all we have.
Karen was preceded in death by her father, Thomas, mother, Beverly, and nephew Theodore.
She is survived by her husband, Matthew, her four children, Jerome, David, William, and Kathlina, her brother, Robert (Katie) Lapp, her sister Lori (Kevin) Marion. As well as many nieces and nephews Nathaneal, Alexander, Genavieve, Mickaylla, Adelynn and Adrian.
