Karen Jean Helms Silverstein passed away on Friday, March 15, 2019 in her home in Memphis, TN from Parkinson’s Disease. She was born in Denver, CO on December 5, 1944 to Dorothy Henrietta Helms and Carl Elmer Helms. When Karen was born, her father was a was a second lieutenant in the US Army stationed at Fitzsimons Army Base. Karen was born in the base hospital. The family later moved back to Long Island where …
