Walcamp is the setting for our memorial service to honor Karen Schmiedeke. Karen was one of the Walther League members who helped raise funds to secure the property and start the Walcamp Ministry in the early 1960's. A dedicated Missouri Synod Lutheran, Karen was a member of St Luke Lutheran Church in Itasca. She and her family enjoyed God's creation at the Walcamp Family Campground for many years.
