Background
Karen believed wholeheartedly that music enriches our lives in so many ways. She started playing the Cello in 4th grade and continued as an adult playing with various groups including symphonies, church groups, weddings and family gatherings. She taught piano, violin and cello for many years in her home in Lake Wildwood.
Karen was diagnosed with Stage 4 Melanoma Cancer on January 5, 2024. She bravely underwent 3 rounds of immunotherapy, which greatly impacted her health and every day life. The negative side effects caused her to be hospitalized for 2 weeks in March. After much prayer and consideration, she returned home and decided to spend her remaining time with family and friends.
Our goal is to raise money and awareness for melanoma and to help others with early detection and alternative treatment options. In addition, we would love to raise money for Music Education through Music in the Mountains of Grass Valley. Contribute to Music in the Mountains
