I am so sorry for your loss and for my loss. I only knew Karen for a short length of time, but it felt like we had known each other for years. Everytime I saw her she was always happy and there was that big smile on her face.
A couple of years ago Kalon bought us tickets to see Fantasia, for
Christmas in Nashville, we were both like two kids let loose in a candy store. Eyes all bright and shiny and smiles so big it was kind of scary, but funny. We had a ball that night. She talked about how much her sisters would have enjoyed the concert, as we did. Karen it was an honor and a pleasure to have known you and I will miss you and will never forget you. My heart is heavy and so sad. Rest in peace, my sister.
Kalon - Christa and I are very sorry for your loss and we hope you are doing well. - Chris Wood
I have known the Owens' Family since I was in the first grade at Saint Anthony Catholic School, where I met Janice. Janice is my daughter's Godmother. Janice was my BESTFRIEND. Karen was isn't born when we started grade school, but I spent many nights at their house on Speed Street. I remember sleeping on bunk beds at their house, Janice spent nights at my house too, Mama Forte and her dance groups, Daddy Bill sitting in his chair, Mr. Owen's BBQing in the backyard, Mrs. Owen's spaghetti, playing with Siam the cat and I don't like CATS, walking down the street to visit the Hall's (cousins), remembering next door neighbors the Morris', going across the street to talk to Catherine, going to the convenience store on Jackson for snacks, going to Ellendale to your aunt's house, so many memories of back in the day. All my love and sincere condolences for this family.
Kalon you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Your mother was a very special lady. I am so glad that I had the opportunity to meet her!

Auntie you really hit me hard with this one! I remember sitting and talking to you and going down memory lane. We were suppose to go out for crab legs and have drinks. I hate I didn’t get that chance. Your heart is glowing right over us and now you are in Gods hands I’m much better with that! I love you auntie and will forever have u in my heart, right next to Kai! Rest well love❤️🕊
Kalon,
I never got to meet your Mom, but from seeing her photo and write up here, and knowing you, I can tell she was a very special woman.
Deepest condolences to you and all of your family and friends.
Andrea

Cousin Karen little did I know that I would be seeing you for the last time in San Francisco this past March. What a wonderful time we had at our "mini" cousins reunion! You, me, Diane, Lynn and Zakiya! Rest in paradise cousin! Love you forever!
Aunt Karen was and will forever be a light, my last memories with her was making jokes at Sonya’s wedding and hugging because it had been so long since we saw each other. We had a cute “keekee” in the bathroom lol. I’m thankful that during her time on earth I got to see her often while I was growing up and through everything she always had a sense of humor and showered me with love. I love y’all, and I will forever keep Aunt Karen in my heart. 🤍
I met Karen when I was 4/5 on Speed Street they lived right across the street from my mother’s first cousin B Hegman (Michael Hegman #58 Dallas Cowboys dad) and we have been friends every since. We attended school and church together. I was taller than her but she was older than me 😂. When you talk about our relationship over 50+ years I can write a book! Rest well my dear friend I know you are finally with Kai , Mommas Owens and Ford, Janice and funny man Robert Owens I can only imagine the celebration. Btw I got Barry !
I love you auntie, I will forever remember the talks and lesson learned from your wisdom. Give Mama, Kai, and NaNa a hug and kiss for me. Love you always.

I will always love you. Thank you for all the laughs and hugs. Love Rat-Rat❤️
We can find strength and peace in the midst of sorrow if we believe that God's grace and sovereignty are greater than any loss of disappointment. We may not understand why God allows tragedy to strike us, but we can rest in his infinite wisdom and tender mercies.
