Michael...My deepest condolences to you and your family. I only met Karen once but she was a gem with such a great sense of humor..I'm sorry there wasn't time to see her again...Love Maggie Webb
Even though we were miles apart, I loved her just the same. I can remember as little girl, the fact that she looked so much like my mom, ( Kristina Elaine Eriksrud Fitton) she was beautiful and fun loving. You will be missed Aunt Karen. Sending my deepest sympathies to Kyle, Kelly, Chris, Michael friends and family.
Karen was well known to our St. Albert and Edmonton families. She added fun, friendship, dignity, generosity and a bright light to the Grey Cup parties at Chris and Sheri's home and recently to the Lion's annual Bear and Bean Bash. She will be remembered and missed. Rest in peace Karen.
Karen is my cousin and as such we started out together in Alpine, Manitoba. We played, went to Sunday School, spent family outings together. Then later we spent teenage years and young adult times together in Calgary. This was youth group and school events - even double dated a few times. In later married years we didn't see as much of each other but when we did, the bond was still there. We laughed a lot (being silly mostly) and we also cried a lot (we were both emotional types). A recent visit when they stayed at met house was so enjoyable and then a brief visit at Family Reunion in Kelowna was so fun. Oh, Oh, Karen you will be missed but we will meet again - Praise the Lord for our wonderful up-bringing that gave us that teaching and personal experience. Love you lots, Karen.
When I was a child, I remember Auntie Karen always had a smile on her face, along with a mischievous wink for me whenever our eyes met. Auntie Karen was the "fun Aunt" for me as she always had time to chat with me. Auntie Karen was unabashed in her ability to stir up excitement and fun that at times would cause other adults to look at us with a "oh my goodness" look of disapproval.
Auntie Karen will be forever remembered as a loving, fun person who truly had a twinkle in her eye and a love for life.
