Karen's obituary

Karen Lee O’Hearn (Kimes), born on December 28, 1953, in Berea, Ohio, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2025, in Marietta, Georgia.

Karen was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She was the cherished daughter of Phillip and Ethel Kimes, and grew up in a loving home alongside her three sisters: Lindie, Charlotte, and Laurie. Their bond was filled with warmth, shared stories, and a lifelong connection.

She lived most of her life in Strongsville, Ohio, where her kind and vibrant spirit touched all who knew her. Karen had a passion for creativity and was known for her love of crafting — especially stamping and making beautiful handmade gift cards. She also enjoyed collecting unique purses and keychains, each one reflecting her fun-loving personality.

Karen had a gift for making every occasion feel special. She was a master planner who thrived on creating lists and organizing memorable family gatherings, especially during the holidays. She found joy in the simple things, like watching her favorite show The Golden Girls while drinking a cold Pepsi.

She embraced life with an adventurous heart — whether riding a moped or diving into new hobbies with enthusiasm and joy.

Above all, Karen’s family was the center of her world. She was a devoted and loving mother to her son, Kyle, and his wife Jasmyrah, and an adoring grandmother to her three beloved grandchildren: Kyrah, Skarlett, and Titan. She cherished every moment spent with them, and her unconditional love will continue to guide and inspire them. Karen will be cremated, and her ashes will be laid to rest in Medina, Ohio at a later date. Memorial arrangements are currently being planned.
