Karen's obituary
It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of Karen Moore (Sowards), born on January 28, 1959, and breathed her last on September 23, 2025. Karen was a vibrant woman whose laughter and vitality filled every room she entered. She was the life of the party, always ready with a joke or a story to share. Karen was a firm believer in the words, "Help one another and do what needs to be done," and she lived this wisdom every day of her life.
Karen graduated from Dupont City High School, WV, in 1976. Her spirit was characterized by her love for the simple joys of life, such as enjoying a cold Miller Light, playing a robust game of Mahjong with friends, or humming along to the tune of her favorite song, 'Wagon Wheel'. Her preferred color was green, mirroring her vivacious and ever-growing love for her family and her life. She found pleasure in frequenting local spots like George's Inn and Gunny's Bunker.
One of her most cherished causes was her adoration for her family, especially her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. Karen is survived by her daughters, Alyssa Hock and Jennifer Moore, her granddaughters, Jasmin Settle and Chloe Dooling, and her grandsons, Brandon Settle, Ethan Tyson, Avery Ross, Noah Tyson, and Quinton Jackson. Her sister, Leslie Bojorquez, also survives her. Karen's life was enriched by the affection and company of her beloved family members.
Her memory will now be carried forward by those who remain, with the knowledge that she will be there to greet them at the end of their journeys. She is now reunited with her parents, her best friend, her loving ex-husband, and her true love boyfriend.
In lieu of flowers, a "Go fund me to honor Karen" has been organized for those wishing to pay tribute to Karen's life. Contributions can be made at the following URL: https://gofund.me/6e8747e3a Your generous donations will help perpetuate the cheerful spirit that Karen carried throughout her life.
