She was such a beautiful and lovely soul, and I was always so excited to see her every Friday night for pizza with my family. She gave me so much attention and made me feel seen in a way I’ll never forget. We had a bond that was deeper than I ever expected, and even with the difference in our ages, she made every moment with her fun and special.

I’ll never forget visiting her house that looked like Hawaii, bragging about it to my parents, and seeing her smile when I walked out of the bathroom grinning. To me, she wasn’t just my grandma’s friend—she was family.

More than anything, I loved her, and I will miss her so much. Her light, her laughter, and the way she made me feel will stay with me forever.

Karen was such a strong, passionate woman, and I will miss her dearly! So many fun and cherished memories from teaching across the hall at Wedgwood where she instructed me on how to have a "Come to Jesus" meeting with my mom... to tasting her delicious Portugese soup... to rooming together at Western Washington University for the Teach the Teachers Program where we fumbled through creating Webquests... to meeting regularly for dinner at Santorini's or Stanford's and sharing a lot of laughs! She will always be in my heart!

Ms. Ludloff was my 3rd grade teacher in the early 90's, at Wedgwood Elementary. She was such a fun teacher! One of my favorite memories was when she said, "I like the way you think, dude". I'd never been called dude before, and I felt so grown up! I've had many great teachers through the years, but she was one of my favorites. Thank you, Ms. Ludloff!
