Karen Kayan Layher passed away unexpectedly on April 4, 2023, in Lynnwood, Washington at the age of 47. She is survived by her husband Reed and her son Mason as well as parents Byron and Barbara Perdue and siblings, Jennifer and Bradley. Karen was born February 3, 1976, in Portland Oregon. She married Reed on September 8, 2001, at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Bellevue, WA. Their son Mason was born March 9, 2012, in Everett, WA. Karen began working at the North Bend Theatre at the age of 13; eventually graduating from Mount Si High School and beginning her career with Virginia Mason where during her 21 years she earned her degree from the University of Washington, was a department manager and was recently promoted to the position of Director of Patient Access. Karen loved her family, including her VMMC family. She enjoyed travel, her involvement in youth hockey with Mason and Reed and helping others. Gone too soon, missed so much.
