I miss Karen so much. Karen and I worked in the Administration building of West Valley. I was the Captains secretary and she was the office assistant. Her and I worked very well together and became such amazing friends. I wish we had got know each other longer but I was blessed to have known her for the time I did.

Karen and I shared a special bond. My husband Adam Harmon, is an AML (Acute Myeloid Leukemia) survivor, which made us very close. He has gone through 2 Bone Marrow transplants, different types of chemos, etc., so she would call me and ask to talk to Adam about a side effect from chemo or even just to talk about leukemia. We didn’t just talk about leukemia, but we talked about sports(I’m a Dodger fan and my husband’s an Angel’s fan.. and we are Raider fans lol), our families, our animals, so basically everything! 😊

Most of all, she was one hell of a woman. I miss talking to her on the phone, texting, working with her, having my lunch buddy, and just having my friend. ❤️

My times working with Karen in the Lobby were probably some of the best days. I remember when I first started she had asked me if I watched football and I told her yes, and that my team was the Green Bay Packers. She quickly said ohhh no we can’t be friends. Then she explained that she was a bears fan and I said ohhh. Hahaha. We obviously were joking with each other, and our love for football just made us closer. Karen would always tell me that I reminded me of Rory from Gilmore Girls, and I remember one day she actually was calling me that all day. I loved Gilmore girls so it wasn’t too bad. Karen was always talking about her LA Dodgers.

I remember one day I was working in the lobby with Karen and I swear I had brought a root beer from home and put it in the fridge. When I went to check I had seen one, and so I grabbed it and cracked it open. Then Karen came around and said she couldn’t find her soda, and saw me with a root beer and said where did you get that? I said I got it from the fridge, and she said hey that’s mine. I instantly felt guilty and was like I thought I had grabbed one from home but couldn’t remember. We laughed, and then I told her sorry so many times. The next day I brought her some more to make up for it. 

Karen was always in a good mood and just brought such good energy to our work place. It was a joy to work with her and I am blessed to have met her and call her a friend. Sending my condolences to her family and friends. 🧡💙

Karen was not just a colleague but a dear friend to many of us. She brought joy and kindness wherever she went, always willing to lend a hand and share a smile no matter the circumstances. Karen had the lates news on Dodger and Baseball.  Her positivity and warmth were truly a ray of sunshine in our workplace and will be greatly missed

May you find comfort in the cherished memories you shared with Karen. She will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

My K was Chicago Bears Fan.  She and I would purchase squares in the football pool and pick which team would win each week. Karen even participated in the Fantasy Football. Karen knew about these football players. On Sundays she would have the tv on in my office watching all the games. Karen allowed me to meet her niece and nephew. I always tried to get Karen to promote to higher paying position. But she just wouldn't go. Karen will tell me, "When you go Boss Lady, I go".  Karen will always be my #1 clerk!!
