Karen and I were "grandmas" that shared the joys and fun of Jack, Alexandra and Juliette--Kacie and Matt's family. We talked by phone, texted a lot and shared photos of the kids. She would also share the photos of her other grandchildren so that we all felt connected with her. Dan and Karen were so fun to be with and we felt very lucky to have them in our extended family.
I miss her a lot! I know she is sending us all strength to carry on but I sure miss having her to talk with and visit with in Chicago. Ed and I think of her often and all of her family. I hope she is resting and sending me the strength and energy to fill in for her with the grandkids. Karen....you are so missed! And I really loved you as a friend.

My husband Rick and I had the pleasure of working with Karen at BroMenn. She was one of the best, sweetest, caring nurses we ever worked with. We were so sad to read of her passing, what a loss. We will have her family and friends in our thoughts and prayer in the coming days.

The world is truly a better place because Karen was in it. We certainly had some crazy fun times in high school. She was a wonderful person and will be missed. My sympathy to all her family.

I am so sorry for your loss and will be praying for your family during this difficult time!
Karen was an amazing nurse! I worked with her at BroMenn for many years. She was our shift supervisor. Whenever we called for help, we were thrilled if she was the nurse on duty! Our Angel in white armor! She lit up the room with her smile and laugh! She brought immediate comfort to us nurses and our patients…no matter what we were facing! I always admired and loved her! ❤️
