Karen Goldstein, age 76, of Grayslake and former long-term resident of Buffalo Grove, passed away on June 4, 2020 peacefully in the comfort of her home surrounded by family, after a year-long valiant battle against cancer. Before her retirement, Karen spent over 25 years working with children at the Buffalo Grove Park District. Survivors include her beloved husband of 55 years Jerry Goldstein, who she married on August 16, 1964, as well as her favorite son Cary (Sandi), favorite son Robb (Sherri), favorite son Brad (Christy) and favorite son Michael, as well as their ten favorite grandchildren Kelsey, Grant, Bekka, Allie, Max, Kayla, Joey, Mia, Luca and Jadyn. Other survivors include her brother Joel and sister Shari as well as several nephews and nieces and countless good friends, and a house full of plants. At Karen’s request she was cremated, and due to the global pandemic, the options and format of a memorial are under review. In lieu of flowers, Karen requested that any memorials be made to a cancer or children’s charity.
