Karen's obituary
On the afternoon of Saturday January 22, 2022, Karen B. Gibbs left this world to be with her lord and savior the day after her 70th birthday. Karen was a beloved wife to her husband Vernon, and mother to two daughters Stacy (Jon), Amanda (James), and the best YaYa to her grandson Jaxson.
Karen was a talented seamstress. She loved to sew and create and see the smiles her creations brought to people. Her most recent creations were bears some themed and some memory made from family members clothing that had passed on. She made many bears that she donated to causes and just gave away to see someone smile.
She was good at everything she did and she was often right even though we refused to believe it. She was an amazing teacher as a Para Educator in the school systems in Louisiana, Indiana, and Nebraska. She enjoyed teaching children and seeing the joy on their faces when they realized they can do it. Her passion of teaching shines bright in how smart her grandson is at the age of 2.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents Richard F. Brent Sr. and Catherine W. Brent, her husband’s parents James D. Gibbs and Ethel W. Gibbs. She is survived by all those who loved her. Her sudden passing has broken so many hearts none more than her husband and her daughters. She will be greatly missed by so many.
