I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your mom. She was an amazing woman. She always made me feel welcomed in your home. There was never a dull moment when she was around . I will always remember her and the fun and funny times we had when we were kids.

When we were children, Mom and Dad would always ensure we made frequent visits to Disneyland (we lived about 4 hours away, but it felt like we lived 12 hours away once we started the trek). Disneyland was such a huge part of our lives. When we said goodnight to each other from our perspective bedrooms, mom and dad would start off by saying "Happy Disneyland!" and each child would answer "Happy Mickey Mouse!" or "Happy Goofy!" etc. I still say goodnight this way, especially to Mom.
When her family would fret about things in the future, things they had no control over, Karen would tell them "Don't borrow trouble".  It was her way of saying "try not to worry about the things you can't change." This saying is cemented in our minds as we share in heartbreak and worry about our future.
