It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Karen Berens, who left us on August 1, 2025. Born on January 19, 1955, Karen imbued the world with her warmth, grit, and humor for 70 beautiful years. A woman of deep compassion and determination, Karen's life was a testament to her strength and perennial love for her family and community. Karen is survived by her children, Ashley Berens, Candice Berens, and Joshua Berens, as well as her ex-husband, Paul Berens.

We will gather to honor Karen’s life with a viewing on August 22, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. at Wichmann Funeral Home. A celebration of her life will begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by a peaceful placing of her urn at Riverside Cemetery. Friends and family are welcome to attend and celebrate the life of a woman who touched so many lives.

Throughout her life, Karen was an ardent sports enthusiast, cheering loudly for her favorite team, the Green Bay Packers. She also loved playing cribbage and could often be found in a friendly yet competitive game with family or friends.. She was happiest while spending time with her grandchildren, an activity that brought her immeasurable joy and happiness. Committed to making a difference, she was a steady contributor to charitable organizations such as the Red Cross and Feeding America.

One of her proudest accomplishments was serving in the Navy, an experience that shaped her in countless ways, and stayed with her throughout her life. Her memory will long be cherished by those who knew her.
