It is with profound sorrow that we announce the death of Karel Jane Jeffers, who passed away on July 21, 2024. Born on October 15, 1951 to Elizabeth Jane Crotty, Karel lived a life defined by love and charity. 

A remarkable woman, Karel left a profound impact and unforgettable memories in the hearts of all who knew her and she will be deeply missed.  She loved her children and grandchildren and often spoke of them and their accomplishments, often proudly declaring them to her friends and sometimes people she had just met.

Despite having few assets of her own, she always found ways to help others and to include the forgotten, the outcast and the disenfranchised. Her home was often a safe-haven for struggling youths and she would often give whatever she could offer to assist those most in need. 

A funny woman, she was always ready with a joke and kind words to make others laugh or smile.

She is survived by her beloved children, Michael  Crotty, Nathaniel Jeffers, Tillie Jeffers and Shane Jeffers and grandchildren; Paige Toops, Sierra Crotty, Andrew Crotty, Genevieve Blevins-Jeffers, Brynja King, and Riley Jenkins as well as great-grandchildren; Michael Emerson Robert Crotty ("MERC"), Mavis Crotty, and Blair Toops. Finally, she is also survived by her little dog, Buckeye, who was her constant companion in old age. 

A memorial service will be held at her son, Shane's home in Hilliard for family and friends to pay their respects. We ask that you keep her family in your thoughts during this difficult time.
