It is hard to believe it has been a year. One of the things Kara (Anne when I first knew her as a young mother), taught us is that life is for the living. She touched and changed the lives of many and lives in them now. Not as”memories” but as in some way changed. This was her blessing.
Responding to Ever Loved request...Because Kara was true to her callings I was, probably unconsciously, affirmed to continue to be true to my calling as a sacred dancer for peace...to dance as a witness to the "gospel of love". I didn't realize, until reading her bio, similar influences, thinking mainly of the Catholic Worker's dedication to non-violence. Years ago, I went down to the CW (in N.Y.C.) searching for a wider, deeper purpose in dance- to attend to the brokenness of our world - this was during the Vietnam War period. Dorothy Day invited me to dance for  numerous peace occasions. I was thrilled reading Kara's bio. I muse now that our spiritual paths crossed.  Carla
My best to all relatives and friends.  She truly loved each of you and was proud of you.  I knew Kara for about 40 years, since Francis taught at St. Joe's HS with me.  I think I even remember the green van!  Kara "pushed the envelope" so we would push our envelope of acceptance and love of all people...sort of like Jesus talked about.  Amen to her life here and blessings on your journey in the next, Kara!
