Kali’s knees's obituary
Today, we gather not in mourning, but in reverent remembrance of two devoted joints who served bravely and bent (often too far) in the line of duty. Kali’s knees, beloved by all who witnessed their valiant efforts on the court and the field, have officially tapped out.
Their saga began with promise. Kali’s left knee first showed signs of heroism during freshman year basketball, when it tore its ACL in an act of unrelenting athletic sacrifice. A moment of silence, please, for that audacious layup.
The right knee, noble and proud, stepped up in the years to follow, only to face a cruel twist of fate, quite literally, with its own injury earlier this year. And now, as if to ensure symmetry in suffering, today brought the final straw: a kneecap pop during a humble tennis match, bringing a tragic and symbolic close to the knees’ journey.
Their contributions to Kali’s sports career, their valiant attempts to rise again after each betrayal, and their stubborn refusal to quit, even when everything hurt, will never be forgotten. They were the definition of ride or die (mostly die).
May Kali’s knees find rest now in the annals of orthopedic legend. We send them off with braces, ice packs, and all the love in the world. Their legacy lives on in every limp, every scar, and every “Are you okay?” whispered courtside.
Gone but not forgotten.
Rest in pieces.
