Kalala's obituary

Kalala Nash, a deeply cherished soul, passed away on February 5, 2026. Born on October 8, 1952, in Apia, Western Samoa, Kalala lived a remarkable life defined by compassion, strength, and a vibrant energy that touched everyone she encountered. Her enduring spirit lives on through her loving children—Sharon, Edward, Justin, and Danielle—and her adored grandchildren, Kalala, Kayne, and Eamon. Her loving heart welcomed Mya and Gavin, her bonus grandchildren as well in their beautiful blended family.

In 1969, Kalala met Peter Nash while he was serving as a Peace Corps volunteer in Western Samoa. Their connection blossomed into a lifelong love, and they welcomed their first child, Sharon, soon after. When Peter’s family called him back to America to assist with the family business, Indian Creek Country Club, Kalala, Peter, and Sharon moved to California in 1974, beginning a new chapter of their lives. Over the years, their family grew with the arrivals of Edward, Justin, and Danielle. They settled in Roseville, California, where their home became a haven of love and cherished memories. Kalala remained in that beloved family home until her passing.

Kalala’s creativity knew no bounds and shone in every aspect of her life, but it was complemented by her competitive spirit and natural athleticism. A gifted athlete, Kalala excelled in many sports throughout her life, but golf held a special place in her heart. Self-taught and determined, she became a formidable golfer whose name can still be found listed as a champion at Diamond Oaks Golf Course. Golf was not only a sport she loved but also a way for her to connect with others, as she formed lasting friendships with the wonderful people she met on the course. The game became a meaningful and joyous part of her life, showcasing her drive, talent, and ability to bring people together.

Kalala’s extraordinary creativity was equally boundless. Her talent for cooking brought comfort and joy to those she loved, while her passion for hosting gatherings created lasting memories filled with laughter and connection. She had a remarkable eye for design, crafting breathtaking floral arrangements and elaborate table centerpieces that became the hallmark of her celebrations. Her exquisite taste extended to every corner of her life, from the way she decorated her home to the loving way she presented her family. Kalala’s artistry was an extension of her love, leaving an unforgettable impression on all who were fortunate enough to experience the beauty she shared.

A true beacon of resilience, Kalala’s unwavering love, dedication to her family, and kindhearted nature left a profound and lasting impact on everyone she knew. Her life will continue to be remembered and celebrated for generations to come.

Though Mom may no longer be physically present, her radiant laughter, warm embraces, and indomitable passion for life remain etched in the hearts of her loved ones. Her legacy of love, strength, and inspiration will forever guide and illuminate the lives she touched
