We would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who came to honor our mama. It was such a beautiful day and turnout. We understand it wasn't easy for everyone to make it, and appreciate the loving messages and prayers. Thank you to those who donated to the Animal Society as well. You all hold a place in our hearts! Our mama meant the world to so many!

Best friend ever!! Glad she’s out of pain and in the loving arms of our Heavenly Father.

I could literally write a book about Kalala and our friendship over the years. Among many fond memories of Kalala though, two memories resonate with me to this day. First, she taught me how to drive and second, she introduced me to my husband, Larry Lynn.

I was active-duty Air Force and stationed at McClellan AFB (1976) and I met Kalala through another Samoan lady (Alice) who lived off base. Since I lived in the women’s dormitory, Kalala would often pop by over the weekend and pick me up to hang out, visit with her family and just have fun. Then one day I got the urge to learn how to drive and she taught me on Peter’s big green truck 😊 It was hilarious, but I passed the driver’s test, thanks to Kalala😊

Then in 1977, Pete & Kalala decided to sell their home in Citrus Heights and hired Larry to be their real estate agent. Kalala used her match-making skills to get me to meet Larry and to go out on a date. Initially I declined but she persisted in her persuasive but funny ways and I eventually agreed. Thanks to Kalala, I met the man of my dreams (1979), and we’ve been married now for 47 years, thanks Kalala for being persistent!

Sharon, Eddie, Justin and Danielle, your mom was the best, we all love and miss her so much!

Vi’ia le Atua ma Alofa atu mo le aiga.

Dr. Liz Masaniai Lynn, Ed.D. and Larry Lynn 😊
