Justin's obituary
Justin James Davidson, 49, of San Diego, CA, died unexpectedly on December 13, 2021. The loss of our beloved husband, father, brother, family member, coworker and friend, Justin’s death was completely unexpected and we are all shocked and deeply saddened.
Justin was born on September 19, 1972 to James and Karol Davidson in Eugene, Oregon. Justin attended Ida Patterson Elementary School, Roosevelt Middle and South Eugene High Schools. Justin was wicked smart and attended the University of a Oregon right after high school. He took a break from college when his mother, Karol, died in a car crash on January 6, 1991. Once healed a bit from this great loss he did a bit of traveling around Europe before returned to college. He graduated from Portland State University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
While in Portland, he met his future wife Rekha who was a resident at OHSU. Eventually her work took them to San Diego, CA where Justin worked in biotech. Justin and Rekha have two beautiful daughters, Addi (14) and Livia (10) who were the light of Justin’s life. They enjoyed the sunny beach and ocean life that Southern California provided.
Justin was very active and during his years in San Diego, organized a beach volleyball team that plays several times a week. He was also a major dog lover and was preceded in death by his beloved Aussie, Kirby. He left behind his “volfie” Jakey, whom he and Rekha rescued from the tough streets of Tijuana.
Anyone who knew Justin knew that he was kind, loving, loyal, hilarious, brilliant, handsome, an incredible father, husband, brother, and friend. He is deeply missed by all who knew him.
Justin is survived by his wife, Rekha and their two daughters, Addi and Livia, his father James Davidson, his older sister, Jessica Hutchings, and younger brother, Joshua Michael Davidson. He had many uncles, aunts, cousins and extended family who will all deeply miss him for the rest of our days.
A Celebration of Life took place in California in early January. Another will take place in Oregon, before what would have been his 50th birthday.
A contribution to the Sierra Club, whom Justin supported, or your favorite animal rescue would be a great way to honor our beloved Justin.
