Justin “Jay” Chase Reed

Justin Reed, affectionately known as “Jay,” of Centerville, Utah, passed away on October 26, 2025, at the age of 25.

Born on October 9, 2000, in Utah, Justin was the beloved only child of Cindy Johnson Reed and the late Robert Reed. From the moment he entered the world, Justin brought light, laughter, and warmth to everyone around him.

As a child, he was full of energy and curiosity, always eager to explore, learn, and make others smile. His early years were spent outdoors, surrounded by friends, family, and adventure. Whether playing hockey in the neighborhood or finding new ways to make people laugh, Justin’s joy for life was unmistakable.

He grew up in Centerville and attended Viewmont High School, He graduated a year early in 2017. He made lifelong friends and left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. Known for his humor, loyalty, and quiet strength, Justin had a way of making people feel seen and understood. He carried that same kindness and empathy throughout his life, always putting others before himself.

A devoted and loving father, Justin’s greatest joy was his son, Blake. He shared a deep and enduring bond with Britney Jensen, the mother of his child, a relationship built on mutual love, respect, and shared devotion to their son. Justin was a playful, patient, and dedicated father whose love for Blake knew no limits.

Justin shared a profound and beautiful love with Zoey Moore, his best friend, confidant, and soulmate. Their connection began as friendship and grew into something truly extraordinary, a bond built on laughter, deep understanding, and unconditional support. Together, they found peace, strength, and joy in one another. Justin often said Zoey was his heart and his home, the one who truly saw him for who he was. Their love was rare and unwavering, a reflection of two souls deeply intertwined. To those who knew them, Justin and Zoey’s relationship was a testament to loyalty, compassion, and the purest kind of love, one that will remain eternal.

He also leaves behind his closest friends, Brody Moore, Bailee Jensen, Carter Hughes and Josh Richmond who were like family to him. Through every season of his life, their friendship brought laughter, strength, and countless memories that will forever be cherished.

Justin was deeply close to his mother, Cindy Johnson Reed, who was his greatest supporter and guiding light. Their bond was one of unconditional love and unspoken understanding, a mother and son whose connection never wavered. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Reed, with whom he is now reunited in peace.

Professionally, Justin found purpose and pride in his work as a paramedic. His compassion, courage, and steady presence defined him both in and out of uniform. He served his community with integrity and empathy, always willing to help no matter the circumstance. His calm under pressure and unwavering dedication to others left a lasting mark on those he worked with and helped.

Outside of his career, Justin had a lifelong passion for hockey. From his earliest days on the ice, the sport brought him focus, excitement, and camaraderie. Whether playing in local leagues or cheering from the sidelines, Justin’s enthusiasm for the game, and the friendships it created, never faded. His teammates will remember him for his competitive spirit, humor, and loyalty both on and off the ice.
