June's obituary
June Mary Carnes passed away on Saturday May 13th, 2023
June was born on June 30th, 1940 to Thomas and Mary Santucci in Brooklyn, NY. They moved to Perth Amboy, NJ where she was raised along with her sister, Gloria.
She graduated from Perth Amboy HighSchool where she was active in Secretaries of Tomorrow and Junior Business Leaders. Upon graduation, she worked several jobs as a secretary for Dr Homer, Klapat Industries and Princeton Medical Center. She was most proud of her Top Level Security Clearance required for her work at Texas Instruments.
She married in 1963 and moved to Port Monmouth and later Woodbridge, NJ where she raised her two children. After retiring, she moved to Acworth, GA.
She loved meeting new people, baking, gardening, playing cards and shopping, especially on QVC. She loved spending time with people and giving advice, usually starting with the words, “They say”. However, it was never determined who “they” were. She was a generous woman with an enormous heart and a great sense of humor. Nothing compared to the love she had for her family, especially her children and 5 grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Mary Santucci, nephew, Mark Wyzykowski and her long-time companion, Felix Milano.
She is survived by her former husband Woodrow Carnes, Her son, Jim Carnes, his wife Lisa and their daughters, Kaitlyn and Kimberly; her daughter Kelli Slade, her husband Steve and their children, Stephen, Nicholas and Sara; her sister, Gloria Wyzykowski and niece, Lanette Klimek; as well as several nieces and a nephew through marriage.
A memorial service will be planned at a future date.
