Julius Charles “Chuck” Sojourner Jr. was many things to many people. Out of all his titles, Daddy was his favorite. He was born on May 26, 1958. Sadly, Chuck left this world to be with the Lord unexpectedly on November 3rd, 2022 at the age of 64. Chuck lived a vibrant life full of memories that will forever be cherished by those he loved dearest.

Chuck is survived by his daughter, Taylor (James) McGowan; 9 grandchildren: Trent (Brittany) Sojourner, Blaze Weathersby, Michael Sojourner, Dylan Sojourner, Zoey Sojourner, Alexis “Lexi” McGowan, Ryder McGowan, Summer McGowan, and Kimber Claire; 1 great grandchild: Ella Louise Sojourner; his siblings, Mike (Brenda) Sojourner and Michelle Sojourner; nieces and nephews, Michael (April) Sojourner, Russell Johnson, and Kayla (Skylor) Slay. He is preceded in death by his parents, Julius Charles Sojourner and Janet Bryant; wife, Susan “Mama Sue” Sojourner; and his son Charles Earnest Patrick “Bubba” Sojourner.

Chuck had a big heart and was hard pressed to turn anyone away that needed help. He was a man who always tried to see the good in people. However, he was not the type to hold back and would speak his mind when he felt it was needed. Those that were close to him knew, whether good or bad, he would shoot you straight. Chuck truly did care about helping anyone he came across, no matter how lost they were.

Chuck and Mama Sue’s wishes were for their ashes to be spread on both their Bubba’s grave sites once they had passed. We are in the process of arranging the ceremony and will announce the details soon.
