It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Julien Rivard on April 24th at the age of 86. He is survived by his children Natalie (William), Suzanne (Sylvain), and Marc (Lucy), and by his grandchildren Melissa (Philippe), Sarah (Michael), and Sennea. Julien had a special love for dogs, and his heart was always full when surrounded by Bear, Hugo, Lexi, Mia, and Buttercup. He is now reunited with his beloved pug Benny, who he cherished deeply.

Julien found peace in life’s quiet moments, especially through his love of the city. He enjoyed long walks through Montreal, taking in the rhythm of downtown life and exploring its many corners with curiosity and independence. One of his greatest passions was gardening. He spent countless hours tending to his flowers and plants, finding both pride and calm in every detail. Julien was also a friendly and helpful neighbor, always ready to lend a hand or share a conversation. Those around him will remember the small acts of kindness he offered so naturally.

Julien may no longer be with us, but the mark he left on those around him will not be forgotten. His way of living, independent and steadfast, will continue to resonate with all who had the privilege of knowing him.

C’est avec une profonde tristesse que nous annonçons le décès de Julien Rivard, survenu le 24 avril à l’âge de 86 ans. Il laisse dans le deuil ses enfants Natalie (William), Suzanne (Sylvain) et Marc (Lucy), ainsi que ses petits-enfants Melissa (Philippe), Sarah (Michael) et Sennea. Julien avait un amour particulier pour les chiens, et son cœur était toujours rempli lorsqu’il était entouré de Bear, Hugo, Lexi, Mia et Buttercup. Il est maintenant réuni avec son cher pug Benny, qu’il chérissait profondément.

Julien trouvait la paix dans les moments tranquilles de la vie, particulièrement à travers son amour pour la ville. Il aimait faire de longues promenades dans Montréal, en appréciant le rythme de la vie urbaine et en explorant ses nombreux recoins avec curiosité et indépendance. L’un de ses plus grands plaisirs était le jardinage. Il passait de nombreuses heures à s’occuper de ses fleurs et de ses plantes, trouvant à chaque détail fierté et calme. Julien était aussi un voisin amical et serviable, toujours prêt à donner un coup de main ou à partager une conversation. Ceux qui l’entouraient se souviendront des petites attentions qu’il offrait si naturellement.

Julien n’est plus parmi nous, mais la trace qu’il a laissée auprès de ceux qui l’ont connu ne sera pas oubliée. Sa manière de vivre, indépendante et résolue, continuera de résonner auprès de tous ceux qui ont eu le privilège de le connaître.
