Julie's obituary
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Julie Ortiz, born on the 31st of October 1976, and suddenly taken from us on the 18th of March 2026.
Known by many as "Mazzi-Gwiz", Julie was a beloved figure in her community, a memorable personality in her own right, and the love of her husband, Jose Ortiz's life. Her daughters, Sophia, Zoe, and Araceli Ortiz are left to carry on her legacy, remembering the laughter, bravery, and spirit of adventure their mother instilled in them. Julie's influence extended beyond her immediate family, her sister Jennifer Weinert, and brother, Eric Gwizdowski, also deeply mourn her loss.
Julie was predeceased by her father, William Gwizdowski, and mother, Joann Gwizdowski, who she now joins in eternal rest. She leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews, including Maya and Nathan Weinert, Thomas James Weinert, and Lauren and Michael Gwizdowski. Each of them carries a portion of Julie's remarkable spirit in their hearts.
Julie's life was characterized by her infectious humor, her daring nature, her relentless spirit of adventure, and her profound spirituality. Her vibrant energy and unwavering positivity were her trademarks, lighting up any room she entered.
Julie's sudden departure leaves a void that cannot be filled, but the memories of her remarkable life, her radiant smile, and her indomitable spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched. Today, we say farewell to Julie, not with sadness, but with gratitude for the time we were privileged to share with such a unique and remarkable individual.
