Julie's obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Julie Ann Davis on June 25, 2024. Julie was known for her vibrant spirit and compassionate nature. Although she was fondly referred to as “Jules,” “JuJu,” and “JuJu Darling” by close friends and co-workers, her most honored title was “Grammy.”
Julie's life was a beacon of love and warmth to all who were privileged to know her. She was married to Gregory Michael for 45 years and had three children, Lesley, Bryan and Kevin and seven beautiful grandchildren, Riley, Adyson, Zayne, Prestyn, Irelynn, Wyatt and Kolton.
Julie Ann Jones was born October 16, 1953 in Okinawa, Japan to James Phillip and Novita “Jane” Jones. She was an only child but was great friends with her first and second cousins from Ft. Worth and Dallas.
Julie graduated from MacArthur High School in 1972, where she was a Lassie and Historian Senior class officer. She went on to Southwest Texas State University, now Texas State, was in Alpha Delta Pi sorority, and graduated in 1976 with a Bachelor’s in Education.
She became an English teacher with Northside ISD at John Jay High School and then went on to Taft High School.
Julie met Gregory Davis, Architect, in 1978 and they married on March 17, 1979, St. Patrick’s Day and their family grew in 1980.
Julie decided to pursue her Master’s in Counseling from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 1997 and then became a counselor at Taft. She retired after 36 years in 2014.
Since retiring she spent time going on trips, relaxing, lunches with friends, and helping with her grandchildren, who saw her multiple times weekly and made great memories.
Julie was a very strong believer in God and her savior Jesus Christ. Julie was blessed with an angelic voice and used it often in the choir at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Boerne, Texas from 1989-2000.
Her memory will forever be imprinted on the hearts of her loved ones. We take comfort in knowing that her legacy will live on through the lives she touched and her kids and grandkids. Her infectious laughter, generous heart, unwavering courage and selflessness will be dearly missed.
Julie is preceded in death by her parents, her nephew, Davy Kyle Griffin, and one of her best friends Donna Beth Orsag, from Giddings, Texas. Julie is survived by her daughter Lesley (Casias) and son-in-law Adrian Casias, son Bryan Davis, and son Kevin Davis and daughter-in-law Melissa Davis. And her seven grandchildren Riley Casias, Adyson Casias, Zayne Casias, Prestyn Casias, Irelynn Casias, Wyatt Casias and Kolton Davis.
Rest in the arms of Jesus, Julie.
