Julie's obituary
Julie Ann Anderson, 63- passed away unexpectedly on August 25th, 2022. Julie was born on April 22nd, 1959, in Fargo, North Dakota. Julie moved to Colorado Springs at 13, and she has called this place home ever since. Julie graduated from Mitchell High School in 1977.
Julie was preceded in death by her ex-husband and best friend Johnnie Anderson, her father Joel Haugen, father-in-law George Anderson, mother-in-law Jeanie Anderson. She is survived by her four children, Amanda Enloe, Jenny Radke, Chris Anderson, Megan Hickey (Lathan Hickey), dog Lacey, four grandchildren Gabby Enloe, Gavin Enloe, Jenna Radke, and Daimon Anderson. Her mother, Jan Cooke, sister Joni Brookes (Scott Brookes), brother Jerry Haugen (Brandi Haugen). Nieces Jessica Brookes and April Haugen, nephews Ryan Brookes and Brody Haugen, and stepmother Joyce Haugen.
Family was everything to Julie- all Julie wanted in life was to be a mother. She devoted her life to her children, whom she loved dearly. Julie had a very close bond with her mother and sister, spending daily hours on the phone. Her family was the apple of her eye; ensuring their happiness above hers was her calling in life. Happiness to her was not measured by wealth; the little things in life and the ability to spend time with her family brought Julie true happiness.
Julie spent most of her free time at Bear Creek Park. The first time she walked into the park, she said, “I’m home.” She had an unparallel love for animals. There were never any “strays” around Julie’s because every animal had a home with her. Julie was known to take in every feral cat; she fed squirrels and took in as many dogs as possible. She had a heart of Gold, always willing to help others out, making the world a better place with her random acts of kindness. Julie was everyone’s best friend; if you knew her, you loved her. Julie never took anyone for granted; she didn’t care about your past; if you were rich or poor, Julie loved you just the way you were.
Julie will be missed by all who knew her, and may her memory live on through her children as they continue to keep her love of animals alive.
The family is still trying to secure the location of Julie’s Celebration of Life, but are hoping to confirm details for September 10th, 2022
