Julia Helen Timinskas (Thomesky, Tyminski), age 59, slipped away peacefully to God at her home on 2108 Jackson St., Scranton, Pa., on Valentine's Day in 1943. She was the daughter of Joseph and Ann Bubelis (Bubel), Philadelphia, Pa.
She immigrated to America with her family from Sutku, region of Kauno Apskritis, Lithuania. Her mother's ancestral members were born in Bialystok, Poland and worked on the Podlaski horse farm. Edwarda Jozef Tomasik. her grandfather, was a physician specializing in horses. Her father, Jozef Bubelis, was from Poland. An avid gardener, she won many Blue Ribbons (1934) for her Dahlias and mixed double Asters (Honorable Mention) at the West Scranton Presbyterian Church on Washburn St. on Washburn St. in West Scranton. The altar at St. Michael's always had continuous fresh bouquets in the summertime.
Julia was famous for her homemade Polish kielbasa, sauerkraut, and root beer. The household linens were beautiful as she was an exquisite embroiderer.
