Background
Our dear sweet Julia was always kind, generous and compassionate; she was a bright and loving presence among us.
A great lover of nature, she loved hikes and nature walks in the trees, by the water or surrounded by flowers. She always appreciated the little things and taught others to do the same.
We'd like to honor Julia's memory and loving presence with a commemorative bench in a beautiful park setting where her loved ones may reflect and feel close to her and where all who pass by may enjoy the healing energy and beauty of nature. Our aim is to find a location she would love, surrounded by flowers or water.
We are currently looking for locations in Golden Gate Park and on the Peninsula and will be in touch once we secure a location.
If you're able, please consider contributing to our memorial fund to commemorate a bench in Julia's honor.
All funds raised will be reserved exclusively for the installation, and ongoing requirements of the memorial bench. Once the site is confirmed and costs are finalized, we will share updates with our community so donors can see how their generosity is being used.
Any funds raised beyond the final cost of the bench will be thoughtfully directed toward a purpose aligned with our Julia’s values, and this plan will be communicated openly. We are committed to handling this process with care, accountability, and transparency, and we are deeply grateful for your support in helping us create a lasting tribute. We hope to dedicate the memorial to her by the anniversary of her passing, April 10, 2026.
