Julia's obituary
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Julia (Watson) Williams on 20 November, 2023 at the age of 31 after a courageous battle with brain cancer.
Julia married her longtime penpal, Laurence Williams, and together they achieved her greatest joy in their son, Ruari Williams. Born in 1992 to Joan and James Watson, Julia brought boundless joy to their lives from the very beginning. Alongside her brother, Jonathan Watson, she cultivated a loving, close-knit family that cherished each moment together.
Julia's passion for education led her to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from the University of Central Florida, where she excelled academically and found sisterhood in her sorority, Kappa Kappa Gamma. As a dedicated 5th-grade teacher, she touched the lives of countless students, nurturing their minds and instilling a love for learning that will endure as her lasting legacy.
Her kindness, patience, and unwavering dedication were evident in every aspect of her life. Julia's bright spirit and boundless love brought warmth to every room she entered. She was a beacon of strength, inspiring all who knew her with her resilience and unwavering positivity, even in the face of adversity.
Julia will forever remain in the hearts of her adoring family and a wide circle of friends and colleagues whose lives she enriched immeasurably.
In her memory, a celebration of Julia's life will be held at the Quality by Design tree farm in Umatilla, on 3 December, 2023. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St Jude Children's Research Hospital or The Brain Tumour Charity in Julia's honor, continuing her dedication to children and to help support research to develop treatments for brain cancer.
Julia's spirit will endure in our memories and the lives she forever changed.
