Julia's obituary
Julia Gertrude (Geimer) Hayes
Julia Gertrude (Geimer) Hayes, age 67, of Meadville, PA passed away faithful to her God, Jehovah and surrounded by her loving family, especially her beloved husband of 47 years Milton (“Sonny”) Vernon Hayes, on Monday March 23, 2026. She was born October 29, 1958 in Manitowoc, WI to the late Gerald Geimer and Marilyn (William) (Lemberger) Weier and was the eldest child, followed by three sisters, Kathleen “Kate” (Vaughn “Tank”) Copeland of Saegertown, PA, Penni (Michael “Mike”) Dallas (Deceased) of Meadville, PA, and Stacey (Jeff) Norton of Saegertown, PA; and two brothers, Steven (Maria) Geimer of Meadville, PA and Sweden, and Randall (Maureen) Weier of Greenville, PA. She was a much loved Aunt and Great Aunt to many nieces, nephews.
Julia and Milton (“Sonny”) were married August 5, 1979 and were blessed with four daughters, Jessica Lynn Morris (Gary) of Sharon, PA, Abbey Lee Hayes of Port Saint Joe, FL, April Marie McIntyre (deceased) formerly of Conneaut Lake, PA, Caitlin Nicole (Philip) Sheldon of Erie, PA, and one son, Zachary Michael Hayes of Edinboro, PA. She and Sonny were happy to become Nana and Papa to five grandchildren (Nikole (Matthew), Abigail, Michaela , Jayce, and Paisley Julia) and Great Nana and Papa to four great-grandchildren (Damien, Sophia, Matthew, and Navaeh).
Julia loved all animals, big and small, and enjoyed cooking, gardening, spending time with family and friends, and enjoyed MANY types of arts and crafts. But her greatest happiness in life was being an involved and beloved member of her spiritual family of Jehovah’s Witnesses and being an active part of her Congregation in Meadville, PA since her baptism 37 years ago. She loved and treasured the privilege of sharing her hope and faith for a better future, including a future resurrection to a paradise earth, with anyone she met and as often as she was able. She shared from her hospital bed her regret that being there kept her from more actively doing so, though she shared her hope even with those taking care of her there. She was brave, courageous, and faithful to the end to her cherished God Jehovah.
Friends and Family are invited to attend a memorial service to be held Friday, April 3, 2026 at 7:00 PM at the Meadville Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 15315 Harmonsburg Rd, Meadville, PA. Zoom information can be provided upon request.
