Julia's obituary

Julia G. Gonzalez, 81, passed away on February 20, 2026, in Corpus Christi, TX. Born on June 9, 1944, Julia dedicated her life to her faith, family, and community.

Julia was known for her profound faith in God and her unwavering dedication to her family and friends. She was a cherished mother, aunt, and friend who left a lasting impact on everyone she met. Julia graduated from Roy Miller High School and later worked at Memorial Hospital and Del Mar College. Throughout the years her most favorite was being a nanny for many babies and children of family and friends. She was known for her love of baking, especially cookies during holidays and special occasions. Her hobbies also included reading the Bible, singing Christian music, and praying for others, always seeking to uplift those around her.

She is survived by her son, Juan Roberto Gonzalez Jr., along with many nephews and nieces who will miss her dearly. Julia was preceded in death by her parents, Jose Rito Garcia and Martina Vasquez Garcia, and her siblings, Jose Rito Garcia Jr., Dolores Valencia, and Maria A. Quiroz.

Her life will be celebrated at a service on Monday, March 9th at 10:30 a.m. at Summit Church Texas, located at 6301 Weber Rd., Corpus Christi, TX. The family extends a special thank you to Choice Hospice, Davita Morgan Avenue Dialysis, the Palms Nursing Home, and Cimarron Place Health and Rehabilitation Center for their care and support.
