Personal note from Mom's Life Around Kansas

A large portion of Julia’s life was spent in Concordia, KS where she has previous experience in business ownership. She owned and operated, as a Licensed Barber, “My Barber Shop.” She was actively involved in that community. Growing up, she was always involved with extra-curricular activities through school and church. She graduated from Concordia High School, received her Barber License from Kansas School of Hairstyling in Wichita, KS and later graduated from the Manhattan Christian College with a degree in Business Management and Ethics.

Obituary

Julia Lynn Shepherd (Erickson), 65, of Manhattan, Kansas, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 10, 2026. Born on April 30, 1960, in Oberlin, Kansas, Julia was the daughter of Eugene and Lorraine (Gaider) Shepherd and the sixth of eight siblings. In keeping with her lifelong spirit of generosity, Julia chose to donate parts of her body, passing forward the blessing of life and healing that was gifted to her.
