Julia's obituary
With sadness in our hearts, we announce the death of Julia Rachelle Dinsmore on July 5, 2025.
Julia touched many lives with her kindness, warmth, and generous spirit. As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, she had a deep love for her God and found great joy in sharing her faith, encouraging others, and offering comfort in times of need.
She was known for her vibrant personality and big voice—many times we would find ourselves reminding her, “Indoor voices, Julia!” She was the kind of person who could talk to anyone, and often did. She was an open book—quick to share her thoughts, her stories, what mattered most to her, and how far she’d come. Many have said she was encouraging—they appreciated that, even though she faced many struggles, she still tried to be the best person she could be.
Creative and thoughtful, Julia found joy in making and giving handmade arts and crafts. She shared her creations freely and often, always eager to brighten someone’s day simply because she cared.
Deeply connected to her hometown of Ann Arbor, Julia never missed a chance to cheer on her Michigan Wolverines—always with a spirited “Go Blue!” She also had a special love for animals and cherished her furry companions like family.
Julia’s warmth, creativity, and sincerity left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
She is survived by her mother, Electa (Sam) Owens; her father, John (Patricia) Owens; her siblings, Starr Owens, Kristen Clay, Sunshine Owens, and Tana (Walter) Reggans; and her nephews, Leroy, Roland, Arliss, and River. She is also remembered by many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
Julia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Dinsmore.
