Judy's obituary

Judy Ann Doro, 91, made her long awaited journey to be with her Savior Jesus Christ on the beautiful morning of April 19, 2024.

Born March 18th, 1933 in Berlin, WI to Eleonore Drover and John Doro, sister to Richard Doro, Mike Doro and Nancy Reese, Judy attended Marquette University earning a bachelor’s degree in nursing, and later a Masters degree from Redlands University.

She married the love of her life, Robert Henry Weink (also known as “Bob-o”) in 1958 and celebrated 61 incredible years of marriage before his passing in 2019.  These two beautiful human beings shared their love with five children: Stacy (Victor) Wright, Kerry Weink (Mark Bechtel), Rob (Kate) Weink, John (Julie) Weink, and Ben (Roni) Weink.  She was known as Nana to her 19 grandchildren and “G-nana” to her 5 great-grandchildren.

In addition to Judy’s deep devotion to family and a special fondness for her grandchildren, she relished (found pleasure in) the beauty of God’s creation, enjoyed world travel, playing rummy with grandkids and was an avid reader.  After raising their family in Southern California, Judy was immensely grateful for the many years of retired life that she shared with her husband Bob on their beautiful “Golden Pond” property in Green Lake, WI.   Throughout her life Judy found ways to serve, volunteering with Hospice and the disabled in her community as a reflection of her Jesus, who came to serve and not to be served.  Even in her final days of life she was more concerned about others, asking “tell me how you’re doing”.

Judy’s final five years of life were enjoyed at Casa Del Norte, the Southern California home of her daughter Stacy and Victor Wright.  One of Judy’s common phrases these past five years included “I prayed last night asking God to take me home. But I woke up this morning and I’m still here. He must not want me.“  Forever the nurse, Judy couldn’t help but pester the hospice staff confirming their medications and practices, and using medical terminology such as expired instead of passing away.   Well, Mother Dear, you officially expired at 8:45 am on April 19th, 2024.  And YES, GOD indeed wanted your most beautiful soul.  Enjoy your heavenly home!
