Judy's obituary
We celebrate the life and mourn the loss of Judy Nielson, born April 7, 1942, who after being in hospice care for over a year passed away from a heart attack on December 10, 2025. Loved and cherished by many, Judy is survived by her devoted husband, Robin Nielson, her eight sons Kevin, Brian, Wayne, Daniel, Timothy, Norman, Christopher, and Nicholas Nielson, her daughters-in-law Barbara, Terri, Lisa, and Melissa Nielson; grand daughter-in-law Kailee; grandchildren Emily, Rebekah, Andrew, Ashley, Matthew, Thomas, Oskar, Vivien, Sadie, Lucy, Cassandra, Logan and Aisling Nielson; great grand children Samuel and Finley
Judy was predeceased by her parents, Herman and Janettia O'Connor, her half brother Roy Montgomery, her brothers Larry and Patrick O'Conner, sisters Bonny Britton and Lillie O'Connor brother-in-laws Chuck Carroll and Bill Britton. She is survived by her sister Betty Carroll and also her sister-in-law Diana O'Connor.
A woman of vibrant taste and robust spirit, Judy's favorite dishes included Beef and Bean Burrito, and she enjoyed sipping on a chilled Ginger Ale. She loved the music of Elvis Presley, and she was an avid watcher of the TV show, Emergency. The movie I Remember Mama held a special place in her heart. Judy cheered for the San Francisco 49ers and found joy in sewing costumes for city theaters. A fan of the color red, Judy's personality can best be described as outgoing and friendly.
Among her many accomplishments, Judy was particularly proud of raising her eight sons, showing strength, wisdom and unconditional love. Judy's life was a testament to the beauty of family, the joy of simple pleasures, and the reward of a life well-lived.
A viewing for Judy will be held on December 30, 2025, at 10:30 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM. Both events will take place at 771 W Fremont Ave. Those who had the opportunity to know Judy are invited to join us to honor the life of a woman who touched so many lives.
