Judy's obituary
Judy Mckie, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, went to be with the lord on September 3, 2024. Born on September 17, 1956, she was a comforting presence and will be missed dearly.
Judy is survived by her loving family, which includes her son Brad Mathis, her daughter-in-law Melissa Mathis, her grandson Conner Mathis, her granddaughter Ally Mathis, her other son Luke Mckie, her brother, Jeff Mclain, her sister in law Tina Mclain and her sister Carolyn Elis. She was predeceased by her sisters Nancy Mclain and Barbra Mclain.
Judy was endlessly kind, always eager to lend a helping hand, and her joyous spirit was infectious to all who knew her. She believed in the virtues of respect and kindness, teaching these lessons to those around her just through her daily actions.
Judy had a lifelong love for music, with her favourite artists being George Strait and Dolly Parton. She enjoyed playing Rummy and Poker and was always ready for a good game. Her favourite pastime, however, was simply spending quality time with her cherished family.
Bright in her tastes and personality alike, Judy loved the color red and a glass of good white wine. It was her kind and happy demeanor, however, that truly made her shine. She retired after working at the school board for 20 years, and one of her favourite things was watching the manatees play, evidence of her passion for the simple, beautiful moments in life.
Judy will be lovingly remembered for her dedication to her family, her joyous energy, and her kind heart. Her love and lessons will live on in those who were fortunate enough to know her. She will live on in all of our memories of her as we carry her with us
