Judy's obituary
Judy Anstett (Martin), of Cocoa, FL, passed away peacefully on October 9th, 2025. She was 83
years old.
She was born in Westfield, MA to Charles Martin and Doris Williams (Paro) on July 16th, 1942.
Judy grew up alongside her twin sister Joyce and her three younger sisters Doris, Bonnie, and
Leslie. After attending Westfield High School and later graduating from Mansfield Beauty
Academy, Judy became a skilled hairdresser. She enjoyed planning activities for seniors at the
Westfield Manor Nursing Home. In addition, she worked as a house cleaner for many families in
the greater Westfield area and later in Port St. Lucie, FL. Judy also started her own antique
reproduction dollmaking business. It was a family effort: Judy created and painted the delicate
features of the dolls while her daughter Michele and twin sister Joyce sewed the historical
clothing. She also taught dollmaking classes, passing on her skills and knowledge of this intricate
art.
Judy married Kenneth J. Anstett on August 1st, 1970. The couple lived and worked in Westfield
for most of their lives before moving to Florida. They lived in the Lost Lakes community in
Cocoa, FL for over fifteen years, where Judy was an active member of the Lola’s Red Hat
Society.
Judy was a sweet and creative person. She loved oil painting and was an avid collector of antique
reproduction dolls. She loved shopping for clothes and shoes; her perfect day might involve a
trip to Kohl’s or T.J. Maxx followed by lunch at Panera with her sister Joyce or daughter
Michele. Together, Judy and Kenny enjoyed taking trips on snowmobiles, motorcycles, and
cruise ships, as well as caring for the three small dogs they loved over their lifetimes: Tina,
Weebit, and Miley.
Judy was soon joined in Heaven by her husband of 55 years, Kenneth J. Anstett, who passed
away on November 6th, 2025. She was predeceased by her sisters Doris Evans and Leslie Florek.
She is survived by her two children, Kenneth P. Anstett and Michele Anstett; her twin sister
Joyce Johnstone; her sister Bonnie Conner; her four grandchildren Justin (and his fiancée
Andrea), Elizabeth (and her husband Frank), Andrew (and his wife Jess), and Annmarie; and her
great grandchildren Ev, Dominic, Harper, Amelia.
A memorial service and burial for Judy and Kenny will be held at Cape Canaveral National
Cemetery in Mims, FL on January 16th, 2026 at 2PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made
to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Brevard Humane Society. The family wishes to extend
their sincerest gratitude to all of the medical professionals that cared for Judy at Health First
Viera Hospital and Viera Health and Rehabilitation Center.
