Judith's obituary

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of our beautiful mother, Judith "Judy" Woodlief - Corbett.

Affectionately known as "Granny Snazzy" to friends and family, she lived life to the fullest and with abandon.

Judy was born in Oakland, California, on August 14, 1940, to William Joseph Feeley and Florence Beatrice Hayes. She is the youngest of three children and is survived by her brother, Raymond Feeley and sister, Patricia Michelini. She is also survived by her three daughters, Jennifer (Foster) Baird, Allison (Foster) Turner, and Heather (Horne) Clark, her grandchildren, Christian Clark, Gavin Baird, and Charlee Turner, and by the love of her life, James Corbett, as well as by his children and grandchildren, and many extended family members whose lives she touched deeply. Lastly she is survived by her beloved little dog, Button, who brought her great joy.

Judy was a strong, passionate and spirited woman,  despite her small stature. Singlehandedly raising three girls on her own, she was an amazing provider,  playing the roles of a mother, a father, and in many cases, a plumber or electrician. She taught her girls to be strong and independent women through her every action, her every sacrifice and her deep love for her family.

After moving from Oakland to Santa Rosa to be closer to her girls, she met Jim. Who said you can't find true love in your senior years?  She found great happiness in the simple and meaningful moments spent with Jim and with all whom she loved.

Judy had a passion for gardening and found joy in the life that surrounded her — especially the hummingbirds, squirrels, quail, and even the occasional fox that would visit her yard. These small daily connections to nature brought her great peace and happiness.

She believed in staying active and embracing life at every stage. In her seventies, she proudly completed the New York Marathon alongside her sister Patricia. She celebrated her 79th birthday skydiving — an experience she loved so much that she did it again just last year for her 85th birthday,  joined by an exhilarated group of family and friends.  The memories made that day will be cherished forever. She  left a deep and lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Details regarding a Celebration of   Life will be posted in the coming days.
