Judith's obituary
Passed away on January 30th, 2022. Born in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn February 15th, 1937. Raised her family with her husband in Dumont and Oradell, NJ, before relocating to Palm Bay, Florida to spend their golden years in the sunshine and warm weather for the last 24 years.
- Predeceased by her parents, James Sr. and Eleanor Grady, brothers James "Jay" Jr. & John "Jack" Grady and sister in-law, Margaret "Margie" Grady.
- Survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Deacon Alfred P. Somma. Her devoted children, Regina Monahan of Wayne, Lisa Juchniewicz of Suffern, Bernadette Holzmann (Robert) of Rochelle Park, Nancy Van Sant (Peter) of Sparta and Michael Somma (Tonia) of Paramus. Adoring grandmother to Sharon (Ryan), Christopher, Kaitlin, Megan, Cassandra, Thomas, Courtney, James, Logan, Jack and Collin. Great-Grandmother of Jackson, Lucas and Alexandra. Brother and sister-in-law Robert and Kathleen Grady, as well as many nieces and nephews.
- In addition to raising her family, she worked as a lunch aide for the Oradell Board of Education and was part of cornerstone at St. Joseph's. She was a pillar of her community, a woman devoted to God, a loving parent and a supportive friend. She had the unique ability to make friends and family out of strangers wherever she went.
- Judy found the most joy spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed crocheting, a warm cup of tea in the morning, a good book and an even better dessert.
- Family and friends will be welcomed at Basralian Funeral home in Oradell for visitation on February 4th, 2022 . A mass of Christian burial will be offered at St. Joseph's R.C. church in Oradell on February 5th, 2022.
