Judy's obituary

Judith Marie Brewster

January 29, 1939-June 16, 2022 Resident of Mariposa, California

Our beloved wife, mother and grandmother Judith Marie Brewster, entered into eternal rest peacefully on June 16th 2022. Judy was a devoted wife, loving sister, nurturing mother, doting grandmother and a loyal friend. Proceeded in death by her parents John and Marie, sisters Patricia and Juanita. Judy is cherished by the family she leaves behind, survived by her husband John, her sons John Brewster (Angela), Jim Brewster (Delia), Joe Brewster (Ruth) and Jeff Brewster (Brandie); and 10 grandchildren. She will be missed by her brothers John Yuill, Joe Yuill, and Dave Yuill.

Born in Boswell, Indiana on January 29, 1939, Judy was the 4th of 6 children. After graduating high school, she completed the nursing program at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Lafayette, Indiana. Judy made her way out to California to start her nursing career where she met her future husband, and her best friend, John Brewster.

Judy and John were married in Sacramento on April 20, 1963. They moved to San Jose, California where Judy worked as a nurse at Alexian Brothers Hospital. They settled down to raise their boys and Judy made many friends at the church and in the community.

After many years in San Jose she and John moved to the beautiful mountains of Mariposa where she would spend the remainder of her years. She was happy in the serene mountain setting and all it had to offer.

Funeral services will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 4985 Bullion Street, Mariposa, CA 95338
