Judith's obituary

Judith "Judy" Ann Bell, 83, of Frederick, MD, passed away peacefully on March 28th, 2025. Born on January 26, 1942, in Weymouth, Massachusetts to John Miller and Shirley Davis Feeney. She was later adopted by Edward Thomas and Viola Davis Bittgen.

Throughout her life, Judy loved learning, which motivated her vast educational achievements. After graduating from Milford High School, she then attended Johns Hopkins Hospital School of Nursing, where she graduated president of her class, in 1963 as a Registered Nurse. In 1970 she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing with High Honors degree from the University of Maryland School of Nursing, followed by receiving her Master's Degree in Social Work at the University of Maryland in 1977. Judy Bell will be remembered for her dedicated passion for working as a License Clinical Social Worker which she retired from in 2015.

Judy will also be remembered for her artistic talents, enjoyment of the arts, drive for adventure, and vast and various hobbies, including playing bridge, bingo, and canasta with friends. Her love for animals, specifically, her dogs, brought much joy to her life, as did her passion for helping and caring for others. Judy never missed a moment or opportunity to show up and spend time with friends and family, as she always reminded others that these moments were priceless. Judy Bell will forever be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother, a strong and fierce firecracker spirit who touched the lives of whoever encountered her soul.

Her memory will be cherished and kept alive by her brother Johnny Feeney: daughter Teri Barrett: granddaughter Desiree Barrett: grandson Timothy Barrett: grandson John Barrett and wife Briel: great-grandchildren Jamir and AvaMaye: along with many friends. Judy Bell is preceded in death by John Miller & Shirley Davis Feeney and Edward Thomas & Viola Davis Bittgen, eldest daughter, Lori Chamberlain, former husband and father of daughters, Irv Chamberlain, former husband and step-father to daughters, Art Barnes and Julius Bell.

A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Friday, June 27, 2025, at the Frederick Church of Christ located at 1305 N. Market Street Frederick, MD 21701 at 6:00 pm followed by light refreshments. All are welcome to attend and celebrate her memory.
