Background
My mother, Jude, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in August 2023. She passed away just one month later, leaving us no time to prepare for her death - emotionally or financially. We have also become instant caregivers for my 91-year-old grandmother, who was under my mother's care. Because of this, I had to drop out of college and could no longer work full-time so that I could care for my grandmother. The loss of my income has dramatically affected our ability to pay Mom's medical debts or end-of-life celebrations.
It is incredibly humbling to ask for this type of support. I have always remained self-sufficient and made prudent financial choices in my adult life. However, this was not a scenario we could have planned for. Any donations will be used to pay Mom's medical debt (already over $7000) and for a Celebration of Life that I would love to have in her honor in Arizona, her home state.
I have made every effort to support my mother throughout my life. Unfortunately, this final act is too great for me to shoulder alone. Please help me honor my mother one last time. Contribute
