Juanteenia "Teenia" McLaurin, known affectionately as Teenia, passed away on May 25, 2025, following a life filled with warmth, care, laughter, devotion, and selflessness. Born on August 28, 1970, Teenia preferred to be addressed by her full name, Juanteenia, and lived her life embodying a spirit that was as distinct and vibrant as her name.

Teenia's survivors include her proud and loving daughter, Shikira Bellamy, and her doting sons, Yau'Mell Scott and Qua'Mell Scott. She was also survived by her beloved mother, Sarah McLaurin. Each of them carries forward her legacy, touched by her unconditional love and unwavering dedication to their well-being and happiness.

A faithful attendee at Proceedeth Word International Ministry Charlotte, Teenia's devotion stretched beyond her immediate family and into her spiritual community. Her warm and caring nature, peppered with a sense of humour that could lighten even the darkest days, made her a cherished member of her congregation.

A Celebration of Life service for Juanteenia will take place on June 4, 2025, at 11:30 AM at the West River Hall. This gathering seeks to honor her memory, rejoice in the love she shared, and encourage the continuance of the values Teenia upheld so vividly in her lifetime.

With her passing, the world has lost a luminous soul who radiated positivity and selflessness; however, her spirit will continue to inspire and guide those whom she touched during her life. Juanteenia "Teenia" McLaurin will be greatly missed, yet her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
