Juanita's obituary

Juanita "Nita" Gilchrist, 61, of Alexandria, VA, passed away in the early morning hours of Friday, July 22, 2022, after a long arduous battle with uterine cancer.

Juanita was born on June 18, 1961, in Washington, DC.   Juanita was a creative spirit with a passion for fashion and cooking, and carried an eclectic taste in music. She was also a gifted visual artist and demonstrated a great talent in sewing, knitting, and crochet. She will be missed greatly.

Juanita is survived by her daughter, Anna Brown, son, Glenn Brown, Jr., mother, Dorothy Gilchrist, sister, Dorothy Ramey, brothers George Gilchrist III and Bernard Davis, and many nieces and nephews.

The family requests that all flowers and notes be sent to her daughter, Anna, at her home address. There will be a private memorial service for close family and friends at an undisclosed location at a later date.
