Juanita's obituary
Juanita is preceded in death by her husband, Horace Bynes, who she married on August 5, 1950 and her parents Nathaniel Sloan and Alice Bell.
Born on November 24, 1927, in Plant City, Florida, Juanita was a loving wife to her husband Horace, known for always having a hot meal on the table ready and waiting when he got home from work. She was also a hard worker outside the home as housekeeper for many different families in the community.
Juanita had many dear friends and neighbors in the St. Paul’s Terrace community, most notably Mary Snider and Ellen Johnson. She was also an active and faithful member of Grace Baptist Church.
Juanita loved fishing, gardening and listening to music. She was known to many in the community as “Gaga”, a name given to her by her Goddaughter, Ms. Bridget Williams, of South Norwalk, who she loved dearly and treated like her own daughter. The staff at Autumn Lakes also called her “Gaga”, and her loved ones thank them for the loving care they provided to her.
She is survived by her Brother, Freddie Nesbit of Plant City, Florida and Goddaughter Ms. Bridget Williams of South Norwalk, Connecticut, as well as many nieces and nephews. Her loved ones, friends and neighbors will miss her dearly.
A private, graveside, Memorial Service was held at Riverside Cemetery, 81 Riverside Avenue, Norwalk, CT and officiated by Tony L Hardy Sr, Minister, Universal Life Church of Seattle Washington.
Memorial gifts in Mrs. Bynes' memory can be made to Grace Baptist Church, attention Reverend Dr. Lindsey E. Curtis, 17 West Avenue, Norwalk, CT 06854.
