Juanita "Granita" Alvarez would like to let you know that her work here is done. On Thursday, April 23, 2020, she received a call, a sort of an offer you can’t refuse, for an appointment from which she will not be returning. This assignment comes with a huge sign-on bonus, a reunion with family and friends she has not seen in a long time.

Her new mission takes her to a wonderful place where she will be able to do the thing she loves most in this world, socializing. She will be able to bring her enthusiastic personality and loving charm to so many others that she did not get to meet while with us. Music, laughter and love are guaranteed. Food is delicious and she will be able to entertain others while they watch her eat her finger foods with only two fingers. She left detailed instructions for her children, grandchildren, family, and her enormous circle of friends to celebrate her mission here, which has now been completed. Live your life as she lived hers. Be kind to everyone, meet new people and invite them into your life, and love so much that the person will feel it long after you are gone. Low adherence to this instruction will not be tolerated.

We want to let her know that she did a great job and wish her a safe journey. We will remember her smile, her warmth, her energy, her love for life, family and friends. She worked very hard all her life, not only at her job of 40 years (she had more vacation time then anyone we know) but fighting for her health. She fought battles around numerous health issues most of her life that would of knocked out most everyone else and in the very end she decided it was her time and went on her terms. She made a difference in the lives of many.
